My name is JR, and I am the senior photo fixa and I'm serious about the work that I do and the end result. Whilst I worked the majority of my professional life as an investment adviser, I was also actively engaged in fine arts and photography both as a semi-professional photographer and in digital photographic enhancement and photo-art. I have received awards for landscape painting along with awards for analogue and digital photographs.
To get to this point, I completed a Diploma of Photography. At the time, the course included units in emerging digital technology with significant training in state-of-the-art photo editing platforms.
I also have significant experience in the traditional and time honoured art of analogue darkroom development of colour and black and white photographs and I apply these skills and understanding of traditional methods to digitally enhance and bring back to life, your cherished photos... and your memories.
Many of my own photos have been taken on vintage cameras (including a pinhole camera and 1950's German Franka Solida bellows camera) to get an "old world" look, yet I use state-of-the-art editing platforms to restore old photos.
Early 19th century French-born Master Photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson best sums up my philosophy to photography. He wrote "it is an illusion that photos are made with the camera, moreover, they are made with the eye, heart, head AND the camera".
